Hostinger India pricing and measured performance

What stands out from the panel?

1. The inode limit is generous. 400,000 files is well beyond what a typical WordPress site uses, so it is unlikely to be the constraint you hit first.
2. Three websites, not one. This is the practical difference from the entry plan, which caps you at a single site.
3. The CDN is off until you switch it on. Worth enabling, given how much of the measured response time is TLS handshake.
4. Backups run weekly, not daily. Worth knowing if your site changes often, since a week is a long recovery window.

What does the Hostinger TTFB breakdown show?

1. The server itself is not the bottleneck. Hostinger responds in 36.3ms, within a few milliseconds of every other Mumbai-hosted plan we measure. Hostinger runs LiteSpeed web servers, which is consistent with a fast server phase.
2. The TLS handshake accounts for most of the wait. At 163.2ms it is several times the server phase.
3. DNS and connection time are negligible. Together they add 13.4ms and 3.5ms, and vary little between Indian hosts.
4. That points to configuration, not capacity. Handshake duration depends on protocol version, cipher selection, certificate chain length and session resumption, all of which the host controls.

Can a paid SSL certificate reduce Hostinger’s TLS time?

No. Handshake duration comes from how the host has configured TLS on the server, not from what you paid for the certificate. The free certificate included with the plan performs identically.

What does help is moving the handshake closer to the visitor, which is what a CDN does. See the options below.

Hostinger already includes Cloudflare, so start there

Cloudflare is bundled with Hostinger’s plans, so this is a setting to enable rather than a service to sign up for. It has points of presence in Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi.

The caveat worth knowing: on the free tier, traffic from some Indian ISPs, particularly certain Jio and Airtel routes, is reported to be served from Singapore rather than an Indian PoP because of peering arrangements. That can add 60 to 100ms rather than removing it.

So run your own test after enabling it, rather than assuming Indian-edge delivery.

If the test shows Singapore routing, use a paid CDN

BunnyCDN runs points of presence in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Delhi, and manages carrier routing so regional traffic terminates locally rather than detouring through South East Asia.

It is paid and priced on usage, which for a small site is a modest monthly amount. We have not measured BunnyCDN ourselves; this reflects its published network and reported behaviour rather than our own monitoring.

Why our figures do not include a CDN

Every plan we measure runs an identical static WordPress site with no CDN, no caching plugin and no optimisation, using each host’s own default SSL. That is the closest we can get to the server’s raw response.

A real site normally sits on top of that with caching and a CDN. Those layers improve what a visitor experiences, but they would mask the differences between hosts, which is what this page exists to show.

Is the longer Hostinger plan cheaper than paying yearly?

While it lasts, yes. Committing to the longer term lowers the monthly rate substantially. But it does not change what you pay afterwards, because the renewal rate is the same either way.

So the question is not which term is cheaper per month, it is how long you expect to stay. Over a short horizon the shorter term costs less to commit; over the full length of the longer term it costs less in total.

What is different about these figures?

Published Hostinger tests typically run for a fixed window, often two days to sixty days, and some are measured from monitoring locations outside India. Several report on Hostinger’s Singapore servers rather than the Mumbai ones.

Ours runs continuously from a Mumbai probe and has not stopped since May 2026. That is why the figures here move over time rather than describing a single test period, and why they reflect what an Indian visitor experiences.

It also means we can separate the request into phases, which a short test from a speed-testing tool cannot show.

Which company is the contract with?

For customers in India, Hostinger’s terms of service name Hostinger Pte Ltd, a private limited company registered in Singapore, as the contracting party.

There is no separately incorporated Indian subsidiary. The Indian market is served through that Singapore entity, with an India-facing website, INR billing and a Mumbai data centre.

Does that matter in practice?

For most individual users, no. Billing is in rupees, UPI and Paytm are accepted, and the servers are in Mumbai.

It is worth knowing if you are a business that needs a domestic contracting party, or one whose procurement or compliance requirements assume Indian jurisdiction. Agreements and dispute resolution follow Hostinger’s international terms rather than Indian jurisdiction.

If uptime is your priority

Hostinger recorded 99.82% with 65 incidents over the monitoring period. That is mid-range among the six plans we monitor, and above the level most small sites would notice.

If response time is your priority

Other Mumbai-hosted plans we measure were faster, as the breakdown above shows. Most of that gap is TLS handshake rather than server speed, so enabling the bundled CDN would narrow it considerably.

If long-term cost is your priority

The lowest rate available is Rs 149/mo on a 4-year term. Weigh that against the renewal rate of Rs 449/mo, which applies once the term ends.

If your majority visitors are from India

These figures apply directly, because everything here is measured from Mumbai on a plan served from Hostinger’s Indian data centre. For an audience based elsewhere the picture would differ, and we do not measure that.
