Affiliate disclosure
Last updated: 08.2026
HostLatency is reader-supported. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, which means that if you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This page explains exactly how that works, because being open about it matters to us.
The one thing that matters most: affiliate commissions never influence our rankings, ratings, or recommendations. The order of our data is set entirely by measured performance. A product earns its place through the numbers, whether or not we earn anything from it.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a special tracking link. When you click it and go on to buy a product or service, the company knows the visit came from HostLatency and pays us a small referral commission. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be otherwise. You are never charged more for using our links.
Where we use them
We participate in affiliate programs across the different products and services we cover and recommend. This can include web hosting, performance and uptime monitoring tools, content delivery networks, WordPress themes and plugins, security and SSL products, domains, and other tools relevant to running a website. We only ever link to products we have chosen to feature on their own merits.
How we keep it honest
- Our rankings and data come from measurement and testing, never from how much a company pays.
- We would rank a product last even if it offered the highest commission, because the data decides.
- We do not accept payment to change a rating, a ranking, or a review.
- Where we have not yet joined a company’s affiliate program, we still link to it normally, because the recommendation comes first and the commission second.
Why we use affiliate links at all
Running HostLatency costs money. We buy the products and hosting plans we test with our own funds, and we pay for the monitoring and infrastructure behind the data. Affiliate commissions are what make that sustainable, and they let us keep the site free to read. In short, they fund the independence rather than compromising it.
Your choice
You are always free to visit any company directly rather than through our links. Using our links is a way to support the site at no cost to yourself, and we are grateful when you do, but it is entirely your choice.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, or you would like to know whether a specific link is an affiliate link, just ask. You can reach us at hello@hostlatency.com or through our contact page. You can also read how our rankings are produced on our methodology page.
